My Speech on Xtranormal

My Narrative

The Three Little Piglets

Once upon a time there lived Cinderella, the three little piglets and the Gruffalo. They were well known all over Fairytale World because Cinderella always won the Miss Fairytale World beauty contest. Cinderella was married to the surprisingly friendly Gruffalo. They were all well and happy with their three little piglets, which they adopted. They all had their own private chefs and pools, which had coloured lights and fountains. They each had two bedrooms and their own kitchen and private ensuite. The three little piglets starred as main characters in the hit T.V show Pigs in Hollywood. Cinderella wanted to see the little piglets because they had very hectic shooting schedule so the T.V show was shot at their house formally known as the “Pink House.” The piglets were Tom, Pumpkin and Harold. Tom was the head piglet of them all, Harold was the smart one and often got teased for being so brainy. The last little piglet was called Plumpkin who was plump and cute, he also liked eating hamburgers.

The three little piglets had stopped filming for the month and were about to start filming for the new season of Pigs in Hollywood and were always out promoting the show. Over the hedge there was something the piglets knew nothing about, the Green House was being built and it was going to be even bigger than the Pink House. The piglettes were moving in! Over the hedge builders and designers were working nine to five because Cinderella had complained that in the morning and at night the piglets needed their sleep.

The day that the piglettes were due to move in the piglets were asleep till well after midday and when they finally awoke their mother was bustling about the main kitchen complaining about all the noise coming from over the hedge. The piglettes closely examined their rooms that all had three beds of which one would rotate into a desk with a brand new apple computer on. Nikki was so pleased because she got a brand new wardrobe worth five million dollars. Millie was ecstatic because she got a cupboard full of milky way chocolate bars. Penny was excited because she got a rotating bookshelf with five hundred of the best books on.

Cinderella was on the phone to the piglets manager who suggested they should come for a photo shoot to promote the new season of Pigs in Hollywood. When they got through the crowd at the studio of fans that didn’t even take any notice of the piglets they went into the photo shoot room. They posed in front of a tree and wore bling bling. Tom then complained after he saw a red convertible in the corner of the studio. Tom was very curious but his manager said firmly that it was for Madonna later on in the day.

After the piglets had their photo shoot the went out into the foyer and heard lots of screaming and thirty bodyguards barged in with someone in the middle of them. All the piglets were interested in what was going on. They all thought they were Madonna’s fans. When they looked inside the studio they saw three piglets having a photo shoot in front of the car. They then were escorted quickly to the recording booth and from what the piglets could hear they sung like complete angels all the boys were gobsmacked. Tom was staring at Nikki with his big brown eyes until............. Harold and Pumpkin snapped him out of it and said that they were the competition. All the piglets left the building and went to tattle to their Mummy.

When they got home they told their mother who was absolutely furious. She marched right in to the piglets manager and instantly fired him. Then she suggested a showdown at the city hall to determine which sets of pigs were best. The piglettes all agreed to this and asked what they would have to perform. Cinderella replied rather arrogantly that they were to perform one song under five minutes in length, and this would be the same for the piglets.

They all arrived at precisely quarter to two so they had time to warm up. The creators of Pigs in Hollywood said whoever won would star in the upcoming season of the show. The judges were the audience, 300 ten to twenty year olds. The piglets were first up and the sounded wonderful. It was then the piglettes turn who outstanded the audience. The results were in.... The piglettes had beaten the piglets by thirty-two votes and were now officially T.V stars.

After the competition they all moved in together in the newly built orange house, which was, you guessed it bigger and better than the pink house and green house, but that’s another story. They all lived happily ever after. The End

Channel 50 Summary

I am in Channel 50 at our school Somerville Intermediate. This is the extension class for the school and I go to one of the two year 7 sessions twice a week. We do lots of different things including thinking skills activities. At Channel 50 I specifically enjoy the philosophical discussions this is where we discuss as a class which option we would choose, Like for instance Wealth or Friends. We think about different meanings for the word so wealth doesn’t always mean to be rich or have lots of money. We then look at what the type of wealth would mean and then if you could have both and how you would use them. Also possible scenarios, which could happen with one of the options. At the moment we are looking at what the world would look like in 2050, technology wise and you as a person then. We also are searching an eminent person who we are similar to or admire. We have to find out information about them and answer questions about them such as what was your greatest accomplishment. I have picked Martin Luther King Jr. because I feel he was a great leader who made lots of good changes in the world, he also changed things he didn’t agree to in a peaceful way. This is all part of our huge project due at the start of November. So far I have written a future article set in 2050, I have decided who my eminent person is, I have brainstormed people past, present and future who have made a positive impact on the world. Also I have started researching my person so I can answer questions on them. Next week we are starting a bio-riddle on our eminent person. Channel 50 is really exciting to me and I will write a piece after I have finished the project. Overall, I really enjoy Channel 50 and look forward to what else it has to offer.

Hair Colours

Yes right now you are probably thinking what on earth but honestly it is something going on in todays society and it is affecting many people.Think of offending people about their hair colour as hairisim. I mean blondes get given a hard time when actually most blondes are very intelligent, like take my friend Ally for example she is in fact very intelligent and actually got into the year seven speech finals also only blondes from my syndicate went through to the prepared speeches for the year seven finals. Lots of people probably don’t know what colour my hair actually is well neither do I to be honest. My parents call it Strawberry Blonde along with the rest of my family. Whether people at school call it the new ginger-Ginga. It’s only this year that my hair colour has been brought up, I guess it all started with the radio station holding the hug a ginga day. The way I see it a radio station ran a hug a ginga day, no big deal. People then got angry at them because of the unfairness to gingas (I mean its only hugs) there was even an argument on NZ television. My opinion is hug a ginga day was fine all that really happens is people give you hugs, which is actually kind of cool, sort of like free hugs for the whole day. It may not of been like this for other people I guess, but for me I really didn’t mind. I guess it does get annoying when people say Ginga Ninga or Strawberry Shortcake behind your back, then they say I wasn’t talking to you but you know they were as you are the only Ginga in the class. Don’t get me wrong other hair colours get hairisim but brunettes or people with black hair don’t really. So back to the question, am I a ginga or strawberry blonde?? Cast your vote and why in the comments section below.

Cookie Sale Review

Cookie Sale Review

Today we held our cookie sale which was quite successful. We doubted we would be able to sell many as another class was raising money for the S.P.C.A cupcake day. To make matters worse they were in the class next to where we were selling our cookies. Our prices were cheap enough but perhaps too cheap. We sold one for 50c and six for $2. The packs didn’t really give us much profit as they were getting two free cookies. We sold them at morning tea and lunch. At morning tea the cookies did extremely well and would have sold out if we didn’t bring them inside to save some for lunchtime. At lunch the cookies sold out after around five minutes. We raised $70 which we thought was great. It was a brilliant way to donate money for those in need and we had a great time making them. We are now thinking of of running another cookie sale but might not have the six packs for $2 instead it would be the normal price of $3 for a bag of six. Everyone said they loved our cookies and it is great it’s going to a good charity. Overall, they were so fun to make and we spent around three hours making and wrapping cookies. It would be great to do this again with no competition and we all enjoyed it. All in all it was well worth doing!!! We have had many requests for another cookie sale, and some people even said they were the best cookies ever. One of our customers even brought over twelve cookies!!! We are donating our $70 to the Pakistan Emergency Appeal
